Otodus Obliqus. Age: Eocene - Ypresian. Formation: Khouribga Phosphate Bed. Location: Khouribga, Morocco. Otodus Obliqus is an extinct markrel shark which lived during the Paleocene and Eocene epochs, approximately 60 to 37.5 million years ago. Scientists suggest this shark grew to 9 meters in length and was one of the top predators of its time. Its prey was likely to have been marine mammals, large bony fish and other sharks. It was a widesread species, as its remains have been excavated from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Tooth measures 35mm across the top and 45mm in length. Fact sheet included.
